Honoring a Legend

October 17, 2016

Thursday morning, September 29th in New York City at the ASA Network 2016 Meeting, the Executive Council for the American Supply Association honored industry legend Mr. Ernie Coutermarsh of FW Webb with the prestigious Award of Excellence.  The IPD Award of Excellence was established in 2008 to honor a member of ASA’s Industrial Piping Division for achievement specifically related to the industrial and mechanical PVF segment of the PHCP-PVF industry.  Criteria for this award include: a record of significant accomplishment in the PVF industry with overall influence on the current status of the channel; a history of dedicated service to the IPD; active participation in the Division’s activities; a positive industry image as well as a positive impact on the industry overall.  Ernie is the eighth recipient of this honor, along with other AD members Tim Arenberg, Gary Cartright, and Pat Adams.

We are honored to have this well-known and extensively beloved individual as a friend and a member of AD.  Jeffrey Beall, President of the Plumbing, PVF & HVAC divisions for AD says, "Ernie is a true American. He leads by example and is always willing to help out others. He is the first to reach out to a new person in the industry and offer support and share his knowledge. He invented the term pay it forward."

Through his life of dedication and service to his family, his country, and our industry for almost 50 years, he is a true leader for the next generation. Today, we say thank you for your dedication and your leadership. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
