AD Building Material Members Complete Strategic Merger
A strategic acquisition has been announced between AD Building Materials Members Action Gypsum Supply and ARGOS Material Distribution. Action based in Houston, TX has acquired the majority interest in ARGOS and its locations in Chino Hills and Long Beach California. Earlier this year both companies partnered and successfully opened a branch in Phoenix, AZ. Action has increased their total locations to 11, with 8 in Texas, 1 in Arizona and now 2 in California.
In an industry where independent distributors have been acquired by consolidators at alarming rates over the last 3 years, it’s refreshing to see AD members working together for a common benefit. This in turn concludes that independent distributors can continue to grow and expand. Since 2012 ARGOS has been a family owned and operated business providing excellent products and service to their customers. Owners Al and Tom Jordan shared their thoughts about this venture, “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with such a reputable company like Action Gypsum. Both companies share similar beliefs in company culture and approach to local markets with specific priority given to employees, customers and supplier partners.
